Standard Operating Procedures

Essential store processes — know these before your first solo shift.

📦 CPS Delivery

What is CPS? — Customer Parcel Service, our delivery fulfilment process.

Why it matters:

  • Directly impacts customer satisfaction and store KPIs
  • Wrong promises = complaints, escalations, lost trust
  • Getting it right = happy customers, repeat business

Key Rules:

  • 3-minute briefing with customer on delivery expectations
  • NEVER promise delivery dates, installation, or combined delivery until you've checked CPS order logistics status
  • Use customer-friendly language when explaining timelines
  • For escalation: include order number, product, issue summary, and customer contact

Practical tasks:

  • Check customer CPS order logistics status before promising anything
  • Practise the 3-minute briefing with a colleague
  • Write an escalation email with all required information

Quick Check:

  • What is the typical delivery time for a 55" TV?
  • Is installation included in the CPS service for washing machines?
  • What must be included when escalating a special case?
🎫 Store Manager Voucher Use

Purpose: Store Manager vouchers help manage customer expectations, support conversion, and avoid complaints.

Voucher Types:

  • Product vouchers — specific product promotions
  • Customer segment vouchers — targeted customer groups
  • Campaign vouchers — seasonal/event-based promotions

Key Rules:

  • Always check voucher validity before offering to customer
  • Must complete required steps before applying voucher
  • Document voucher use for reporting and audit purposes
  • Understand the conditions and restrictions of each voucher type

Usage Timing:

  • When customer is hesitating on purchase decision
  • When matching a competitor's promotional offer
  • During campaign periods as directed by head office

Quick Check:

  • Where can you check Store Manager voucher availability?
  • What must be completed before using a voucher?
  • What is the July 2026 Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro voucher offer?
🤝 Handover SOP — Xiaomi Personal Setup

Xiaomi Personal Setup — the post-purchase handover process for customer satisfaction.

Steps:

  1. Product Check — Unbox and inspect product with customer present. Verify all items are included and undamaged. Customer signs off on condition.
  2. Personal Setup — Help customer sign in to accounts, transfer data from old device, configure preferences (language, display, notifications). Connect to Wi-Fi and update software if needed.
  3. Sales Features Demo — Walk through the main selling points relevant to the customer's use case. Show key features they'll use daily. Demonstrate camera, display, and any standout features.
  4. Returns Info — Explain returns policy clearly: 14-day change of mind (M4), condition requirements, how to initiate a return, what to keep (packaging, accessories).
  5. Customer Info — Register warranty, explain support channels (mi.com/uk/support, in-store, phone). Provide contact details for follow-up questions.
  6. Practice Test — Run through a quick test to ensure customer is comfortable with basic operations.

Quick Check:

  • What is included in Xiaomi Personal Setup?
  • How should data transfer be handled during setup?
  • Within how many days can a product be returned (M4)?
  • What information should be provided about warranty and support?

Q&A

Common customer questions — know these answers.

⌚ Xiaomi Watch 5 — iPhone Compatibility

"Why doesn't Xiaomi Watch 5 work with iPhone?"
  • That's a fair question. Xiaomi Watch 5 runs on Wear OS by Google, which is designed to work with compatible Android phones, so iPhone pairing isn't supported on this model.
  • The benefit of that is, if you use an Android phone, you get a fuller smartwatch experience — things like Google apps, Gemini on your wrist, Google Play apps, maps, payments and more.
  • But if you're using an iPhone, I wouldn't recommend this one, because I don't want you to buy a watch that won't pair properly with your phone. A better fit would be Xiaomi Watch S5. It keeps that premium round watch design, works with iPhone, and still gives you strong health, sleep and fitness tracking. You won't get Gemini, but for everyday wellbeing and sports use, it's still a very capable choice.

🔥 Phone Overheating

"Why is my new Xiaomi phone overheating?"

Indeed the unusually warm weather in the past two days could be a potential cause of the phone overheating. Currently, the temperature is relatively high in summer, and the phone itself is a high-performance electronic device. During charging, navigation, taking photos and videos, playing games, downloading updates, enabling 5G, or long-term use, the processor and battery will generate heat. If the ambient temperature is high, the heat dissipation speed will slow down, and the phone will feel significantly hotter. This is a normal physical phenomenon and does not indicate a quality issue with the phone.

The phone has a built-in temperature protection mechanism. When the temperature is too high, the system may automatically reduce performance, limit the charging speed, or even temporarily disable some functions. This is to protect the safety of the battery and hardware, and the phone can continue to be used after the temperature returns to normal.

Advice for customers:

  • Avoid using your phone for extended periods in direct sunlight
  • Try not to play large-scale games or record videos for an extended period while charging
  • You can temporarily close high-power-consuming apps to let the phone rest for a few minutes
  • Use original or standard-compliant chargers and data cables

💳 Band 10 Pro — NFC Payment Support

"Which cards does Band 10 Pro NFC support?"

Supports only Mastercard from the following card organizations:

  • Curve UK Limited
  • Monavate Limited
  • Moorwand Ltd

Tip: If the customer's bank isn't listed, suggest Curve — it acts as a wrapper that lets you add any Mastercard/Visa card and use it via Curve's Mastercard on the Band 10 Pro.

💬 Objection Handling

"£1,299 is really expensive"
"I understand. But consider what's inside: a 200MP Leica telephoto with mechanical optical zoom — that's a £2,000 camera lens equivalent. The 1-inch sensor with LOFIC HDR is the same size found in professional compact cameras. Plus you're getting a 6000mAh battery, 90W charging, IP68, and a display that uses 26% less power. You're getting a phone, a professional camera system, and a cinema rig in one device."
"I've never heard of Xiaomi"
"That's fair! We're the world's 3rd largest smartphone brand with 600 million monthly active users globally. We've been focused on Asia and Europe — this store is part of our UK expansion. We partner with Leica for camera technology, Qualcomm for processors, and our displays are TÜV certified. Want to see why so many people choose us?"
"Is the camera really that good?"
"The 200MP telephoto has a mechanical optical zoom — real glass elements moving, not digital cropping. At 75–100mm, it covers the portrait focal range that professional photographers prefer. The 1-inch main sensor with LOFIC HDR captures more light detail than almost any phone camera. Let me show you some samples..."

💬 Objection Handling

"Is the camera as good as the Ultra?"
"The Ultra has a 200MP telephoto for extreme zoom, but the 17 shares the same Leica Summilux optics and the Light Fusion 950 — a 1/1.31-inch pro-grade sensor with 13.5EV dynamic range. For everyday photography, portraits, and low light, it's exceptional. The 60mm floating telephoto is the perfect portrait focal length."
"I prefer bigger phones"
"I get that — but give it 30 seconds. At 71.8mm wide and 191g, it's designed for one-handed use. The 1.18mm bezels mean you still get an immersive 6.3-inch screen. Once you feel how light and comfortable it is, most people don't want to go back. And you still get IP68, 6330mAh, and 100W charging."
"What about the display?"
"CrystalRes at 2656×1220, 464 PPI — razor sharp. 3500 nits peak for outdoor visibility. 1–120Hz Adaptive Pro: drops to 1Hz when reading, jumps to 120 when scrolling. Original Colour Pro CMF 2025 for true-to-life colours. TÜV Triple certified for eye care. It's a flagship display in a compact body."

💬 Objection Handling

"What's the difference between the 17T and 17?"
"The 17T is built for telephoto — it has a 5x periscope lens that the 17 doesn't, giving you 10x lossless zoom and 120x AI Ultra Zoom. It also has a bigger 6500mAh battery and a larger 6.59-inch display with TÜV Quadruple eye care certification. The 17 is more compact with a faster Snapdragon chip. If photography and battery life are priorities, the 17T is the better choice."
"Is the Dimensity chip as good as Snapdragon?"
"For everyday use, absolutely — the All-Big-Core design handles everything smoothly. The Dimensity 8500-Ultra is optimised for efficiency on TSMC 4nm, which is why the 17T gets such great battery life. For most users, you won't notice any difference in speed."
"I don't take many zoom photos"
"Even if you don't zoom often, the 5x periscope changes how you compose shots — portraits at 115mm have a completely different look to wide-angle snaps. And Leica Live Moment captures the moment before you press the shutter, so you never miss the perfect shot. Plus the 6500mAh battery and TÜV Quadruple eye care make this a great daily driver regardless."

💬 Objection Handling

"Can anyone really tell 120 from 144?"
"It's hard to put into words, but your eyes pick it up immediately. Scroll this feed for a minute, then swap to a 120Hz phone. Most people describe their old phone as feeling slightly 'sticky'. Once you see it, you can't unsee it."
"Doesn't 144Hz hammer the battery?"
"The 17T Pro pairs that 144Hz with a 7000mAh battery — 20.3 hours of constant use, 30.7 hours of video playback. And the 17 and Ultra use Adaptive Refresh Rate Pro: 1Hz when you're reading, 120Hz when you're scrolling. It only draws power when it actually needs to."
"What's the benefit of Dimensity 9500?"
"It's built on 3nm with All-Big-Core architecture — every core is a performance core. AnTuTu score over 5.7 million. In practice: apps open faster, games run smoother, and the AI features like Gemini and Veo 3 run natively on device."

1️⃣ Clarity — "Clarity redefined — Stunning at a glance"

Tech: Xiaomi HyperRGB — a breakthrough full RGB subpixel array that enhances visual clarity while significantly lowering power consumption. Up to 464 PPI CrystalRes. 144Hz refresh rate (17T Pro) / 1–120Hz LTPO Adaptive Refresh Rate Pro (17 Ultra & 17). Advanced LIPO packaging reduces all four bezels to just 1.18mm.

Benefit: Text stays razor-sharp on every caption and article. Scrolling feels effortless and responsive. The display stretches edge to edge — boundless vision in your hand.

🎤 Demo Script:

① Open BBC News on the 17 Ultra. Hand it to the customer: "Have a read of this — notice how clean the small text looks? That's HyperRGB. Every pixel has its own full red, green, blue. No sharing between pixels, no fuzziness."

② Open Instagram on the 17T Pro. Invite them to scroll: "Give this a proper flick — fast as you like. Feel that? 144 frames every second. Once you've used this for a day, going back to 120 feels like wading through treacle."

③ On the 17, open a Guardian long-read and stop scrolling for a few seconds: "Right now the screen's dropped to 1Hz — barely sipping any power while you read. The moment you touch it…" (scroll) "…straight back to 120. That's Adaptive Refresh Rate Pro. Smooth when you need it, efficient when you don't."

④ Hold the 17 face-on at arm's length: "1.18mm bezels all the way round. Advanced LIPO packaging. It's practically all screen."

"I mostly just scroll TikTok and Insta — sharpness isn't something I think about"
"That's actually where you'll feel it most — captions, comments, and the scroll itself. Give it 30 seconds, then pick up your current phone. You'll notice the difference straight away."
"Surely 144Hz hammers the battery?"
"The 17T Pro pairs that 144Hz with a 7000mAh battery — over 20 hours of use. And the 17 and Ultra use Adaptive Refresh Rate Pro: 1Hz when you're reading, 120Hz when you're scrolling. It only draws power when it actually needs to."

2️⃣ Brightness — "Super clarity under bright sunlight"

Tech: 3500 nits multi-scenario peak brightness — the highest in the current flagship market. Super Sunlight Display ensures superb outdoor visibility. The 17T Pro adds 1-nit ultra-dimness for comfortable viewing in complete darkness.

Benefit: The screen stays perfectly readable whether you're checking Google Maps in direct sun or reading a message in a pitch-dark bedroom. Stunning HDR visuals with full highlight-to-shadow range.

🎤 Demo Script:

① Open Google Maps in navigation mode on the 17. Walk with the customer towards the store window or strongest light source: "Imagine you're walking to a meeting, sun's fully out, checking your route. See how the map stays completely legible? That's Super Sunlight Display — 3500 nits fighting the glare for you."

② On the 17T Pro, open YouTube and play a 4K HDR nature clip: "Look at those highlights — the sun reflections actually glow without washing everything else out. That full 3500-nit range gives you proper HDR. Bright bits bright, dark bits dark."

③ Dim the 17T Pro all the way down: "And then at night — 1 nit. You could check WhatsApp in bed without lighting up the whole room. One phone, full range — from blazing sunshine to pitch dark."

"This is the UK — we barely get proper sunshine"
"Fair point! But even on a grey day, outdoor light is significantly brighter than you'd expect. And the moment you're on holiday, at a festival, or just sat by a sunny window on the train — that's when you'll properly appreciate it."
"I just turn my brightness up to max"
"The manual slider on most phones caps around 1000–1500 nits. 3500 nits kicks in automatically via the ambient sensor when conditions demand it. It's headroom you literally can't reach by dragging a slider."
"Doesn't that level of brightness destroy the battery?"
"It only fires at peak when the light conditions genuinely demand it. The rest of the time it runs adaptively and efficiently. And the Ultra's HyperRGB panel actually uses 26% less power than a traditional OLED — so even at full brightness, it's more efficient than you'd expect."

3️⃣ Colour — "Original Colour Pro"

Tech: 100% DCI-P3 wide colour gamut across the full lineup. 68 billion colours (17 Ultra). Original Colour Pro calibrated to Xiaomi CMF 2025 standard. Pro-grade optical calibration: Delta E<0.37 / JNCD<0.37 at all brightness levels (17T). Adaptive Colours — colour adjustment for natural visuals (17).

Benefit: Colours on screen match what you see in real life. A dress you order online arrives looking exactly as it did on the display. A photo of your family looks the way you remember the moment — natural skin tones, true greens, honest reds.

🎤 Demo Script:

① Open ASOS or Zara and show a product in a rich colour: "See that burgundy? If it looks burgundy on this screen, it'll be burgundy when it turns up at your door. That's Original Colour Pro — factory-calibrated to the same accuracy standard used in cinema production. No colour surprises."

② Open Gallery on the 17 Ultra and show a portrait or food photo: "Notice the skin tones — natural, not too warm, not too cool. That's 68 billion colours and the CMF 2025 calibration working together. What you photographed is exactly what you see."

③ On the 17, walk between warm and cool-lit areas of the store: "Watch the whites on screen as we move — see how they stay consistent? That's Adaptive Colours reading the ambient light and adjusting in real time. Natural visuals wherever you go."

"I've ordered things online and they've arrived a completely different colour"
"That's usually down to the screen you're viewing it on. This display achieves Delta E under 0.37 — that's pro-grade accuracy, the kind you'd find on a studio editing monitor. From the display side, what you see genuinely is what you get."
"The colours look a bit more muted than I'm used to"
"That's actually accuracy — it's showing you reality rather than an oversaturated version. If you prefer extra punch, there's a vivid mode one tap away in settings. But accuracy by default means your photos and shopping are truthful."
"What does DCI-P3 actually mean in normal language?"
"It's the colour range that cinemas use to show films. It covers about 25% more colours than older phone screens. In practice that means richer reds, deeper greens, and more lifelike skin tones. Once your eyes adjust, standard screens start to look a bit flat."

4️⃣ Eye Care — "Xiaomi Vision Care"

Tech: Built on medically-guided research methodologies. Framework integrates 4 key areas and 35 indicators. Industry-first TÜV Rheinland Quadruple Eye Care certification (17T & 17T Pro). Emission integrity: 3840Hz high-frequency PWM + DC dimming. Blue light exposure: reduces harmful blue light ratio at hardware level, up to 75%. Intelligent sensing: 360° dual-light sensor with 16,000 dimming levels. Circadian Rhythm Management.

Benefit: The display adapts to your environment, time and usage habits for multi-dimensional eye protection. Less fatigue after long sessions, fewer headaches, better sleep — all independently verified by a German testing authority.

🎤 Demo — All-scenario Eye Care Experience:

Outdoor — Super Sunlight Display: Near the window: "The screen auto-boosts in bright conditions so you never need to squint. Your eyes stay relaxed even in direct light."

Low-Light — Flicker-free dimming strategy: Dim the 17T to its lowest brightness, hold it steady: "At this brightness, most phones invisibly flicker — your eyes register it as tiredness even if you can't consciously see it. This runs at 3840Hz. Effectively flicker-free. That's what TÜV Rheinland independently certified."

Reading — Simulated Paper-like Display: Go to Settings → Display → enable Reading Mode, then open Kindle: "See how the tone shifts warmer and softer? It's simulating paper. If you read on your commute or before bed, this makes a genuinely noticeable difference to how your eyes feel after half an hour."

Sleep — Circadian Rhythm Management: Show the circadian scheduling in display settings: "From sunset, the display gradually warms its colour temperature to match your body clock. Blue light drops, your brain starts getting the wind-down signal. It happens automatically based on time of day — you don't have to think about it, you just sleep better."

"I already use dark mode at night"
"Dark mode helps with overall brightness, but it doesn't address flicker or hardware-level blue light. This tackles both — the panel itself runs at 3840Hz, meaning zero pulsing at low brightness. Dark mode plus Vision Care together is the complete package."
"I've never had any eye problems with my phone"
"That's good — and this helps keep it that way. Think of it like a good mattress: you don't notice the support until you sleep on a bad one. TÜV certification simply means this display is engineered to be gentle on your eyes by design. No trade-off, no compromise."
"Is all this eye care stuff actually real or just marketing?"
"TÜV Rheinland is an independent German testing authority — the same organisation that certifies car safety systems, medical equipment, and building structures. Getting four separate eye care certifications means passing four rigorous lab tests. That's engineering proof, not a branding exercise."
"What's PWM and why should I care?"
"PWM is how screens dim themselves — they flicker on and off very quickly. The lower the frequency, the more your eyes subconsciously detect it, which causes fatigue over time. Most phones run at 240 to 480Hz. This runs at 3840Hz — so fast that your eyes physically cannot register any flicker. It's the difference between a screen that tires you out and one that doesn't."

💬 Objection Handling

"Why not just get an iPad?"
"The Pad 8 Pro has a Snapdragon 8 Elite — that's a flagship phone chip, giving you desktop-class performance. The 3.2K display at 144Hz is smoother than any iPad. At 5.75mm with a 9200mAh battery, it's thinner and lasts longer. The 3:2 ratio is better for actual work — documents and presentations fit more naturally. Plus the matte glass version has 70% less reflectivity — try reading an iPad in bright light."
"Is the Focus Pen Pro included?"
"It's sold separately, but it's a significant upgrade — buttonless design with smart interaction modes. Pair it with the 144Hz display and 3:2 ratio, and you've got a serious note-taking and drawing tool. The Wet Touch display means it even works with slightly damp hands."

3
ANC demo: "Now let me show you the noise cancellation — 3-mic AI system. Clear calls even in a noisy store."

💬 Objection Handling

"Semi-in-ear can't block noise as well as in-ear"
"True — in-ear seals create more passive isolation. But the Buds 6 use upgraded dual noise cancellation with 3-mic AI for calls. The semi-in-ear design means zero ear canal pressure and all-day comfort. For most daily scenarios — commuting, office, walking — they're excellent. If you need total isolation for flights, the Buds 6 Pro would be the better fit."
"I already have AirPods"
"The Buds 6 support Apple Find My, so they integrate with your iPhone ecosystem. But you also get lossless audio at 2.1 Mbps — AirPods max out at 256kbps AAC. Plus Harman tuning and 30% better bass. If sound quality matters, these are a genuine upgrade."
